City Encourages Property Owners to Maintain Sidewalks
Neighbors helping neighbors makes a world of difference during snowy winter days. In the wake of recent snowfall, the City of Gahanna encourages residents and businesses to clear the snow and ice from sidewalks and curb cuts in order to help maintain the safety of pedestrians in our city.
As a reminder, residents are responsible for keeping the sidewalks around their homes clear of snow and ice. City Ordinance 521.06 states:
Duty To Keep Sidewalks In Repair and Clean
a) No owner or occupant of abutting lands shall fail to keep the sidewalks, curbs or gutters in repair and free from snow, ice or any nuisance. (ORC 723.011)
