July 2006 marked the beginning of Central Park of Gahanna and the end of the longtime abandoned Bedford I site. As the largest Clean Ohio Redevelopment Fund project in Central Ohio, the City of Gahanna and its development partner, the Central Ohio CIC, will have remediated an 80+ acre landfill, corrected major stormwater problems for Gahanna businesses and residents in the area, and will begin a nearly 200 acre business campus adjacent to Port Columbus International Airport and I-270.
A Special New Place for Your Business
Central Park of Gahanna is planned as a 191 acre business campus. Fully developed, Central Park will host a projected 1.2 million square feet of office buildings, Tartan Golf Academy at Central Park, an open air meeting pavilion, walking trails, a conference center and complimentary retail.
The Tartan Golf Academy at Central Park is located in the heart of the development. The golf academy complex will include a lighted nine-hole executive golf course, driving range, pub-style restaurant, conference facilities and an indoor training facility with golf simulators.
Central Park has several areas of opportunity for build-to-suits, corporate campuses, office condominiums, and retail.

History
In 2001, Mayor Stinchcomb established the Bedford Action Team within the City’s Department of Planning & Development to investigate options for restoring the Bedford area. Bedford I and II are located in the Gahanna Industrial Park in the southeast section of the city. Bedford I was located just north of Claycraft Road and Bedford II was located south of Claycraft Road near the curved railroad spur along Enterprise Drive. The combined areas of these landfills covered approximately 104 acres and both had been abandoned for some time.
After several years of research, environmental site assessment, legal work, and coordination, the City partnered with the Central Ohio Community Improvement Corporation to apply for a Clean Ohio grant to remediate and then redevelop the Bedford I area. In December 2005, this partnership was awarded a $3,000,000 grant from the Clean Ohio Redevelopment Fund Grant enact closure on the Bedford I site.
The Clean Ohio funding complements funding received from the City of Gahanna for environmental assessment and stormwater remediation, $200,000 from the US EPA, Ohio EPA, $150,000 from the Franklin County Commissioners through the Community Development Block Grant program, and major investments by the Central Ohio CIC. Critical leadership, technical assistance, and support for the project were provided throughout this process by Franklin County Treasurer Richard Cordray’s office and the Central Ohio CIC’s asset manager, Value Recovery Group.
Major site work on the environmental and stormwater remediation began in August 2006. Now completed, the development of the business campus will proceed with road development, building construction, greenspace corridor development, and a new area for golf in 2008.
The City of Gahanna encourages all interested citizens, community organizations, and businesses to contact the City with any questions or concerns about the Central Park of Gahanna project.
