PARK IMPROVEMENTS

Overview
Gahanna Parks & Recreation strives to enhance and preserve parks and recreation services, lands and facilities through high standards and innovation.  We strive to provide a wide range of recreational opportunities such as outdoor adventures, programmed activities and community and cultural events.

The projects below outline the updates and improvements in our system as we continue to provide balanced, sustainable and accessible recreation opportunities and facilities.
  
 

 

Creekide Plaza

 

The City of Gahanna Parks crew will build two trellises on the upper plaza at Creekside. These trellises (a north and south trellis) will provide shade and added visual dimension to Creekside Plaza. Estimated completion is November 7.(More)

Trapp
Park Playground

In 2011, the playground at Trapp Park, one of Gahanna’s many ‘mini parks’, was torn down due to safety concerns. In June 2012, construction began on the new playground. (More)


Gahanna Woods
Nature Preserve

 

City of Gahanna Department of Service & Engineering is conducting a stormwater project on the Gahanna property that borders the nature preserve. The project will create several wetland pools that will provide stormwater storage during rain events to reduce the peak flows of the creek. The purpose of the project is to reduce erosion downstream from storm flows. (More)

Comfort Station

 

Construction of the new comfort station in honor of Get Moving team member Bob Toopes is now complete. The Show Your Class 5K was Sunday, Oct. 14. More than 200 people participated in this walk to remember former Gahanna teacher, Bob Toopes.  (More)
