The Director's office is responsible for budgeting, personnel, purchasing, interception of citizen complaints for the
department, and management of right of way and utility aggregation programs. In addition it is responsible for the
maintenance of municipal buildings. The office produces new ordinances as needed to address situations that arise
from City growth in addition to routine service contracts, equipment leases, etc.
The Director of Public Service is appointed by the Mayor and is directly involved in the day-to-day administration, planning,
implementation, and enforcement operations for all departments under his supervision.
By Charter, the Director of Public Service has the responsibility of maintaining all public lands and buildings.
He is also the purchasing agent for the City.
In addition the Department also handles such responsibilities as: recycling; street light & signal
installation & maintenance; dead animal pickup; water & sewer line maintenance; and, refuse pickup.
