Tech Center Dr. Extension/I-270 Ramp Modifications
Currently, the Hamilton Road/Morrison Road intersection constricts the flow of traffic between I-270 and Gahanna’s technology and industrial sector. The City of Gahanna has proposed the extension of Tech Center Drive from Morrison Road over I-270 to Hamilton Road as a traffic reliever for the Morrison Road/Hamilton Road intersection. At the request of ODOT and FHWA, Gahanna conducted an Interchange Modification Study which required two additional projects be implemented before the Tech Center Drive Extension could be constructed. The first project involved improvements to Morrison at Tech Center Drive and has already been completed. The second involves modification to the existing ramps at I-270 and Hamilton Road.
TheI-270 ramp modifications include installing ramp meters on the eastbound diagonal and westbound loop on-ramps and a reconfiguration of the eastbound and westbound exit ramps.
