Fiber Optics

The City of Gahanna has made a significant investment into a next-generation fiber optic system throughout the city. The goal of this investment is to provide access to a reliable and very high speed communication infrastructure that will be used to support new services for the city's official use as well as serving as a new tool for economic development and the Gahanna business community. Gahanna Net
A partnership between the City of Gahanna, the Gahanna Community Improvement Corporation (CIC) and Bluemile Cloud, Gahanna Net is a fiber-optic based network rich with features and a wide range of services. The Gahanna OCT business district and Gahanna Industrial Zone will be able to leverage this state-of-the-art technology with very competitive broadband costs and services.

Wireless Gahanna

    
The city has one of the more robust and ubiquitous wireless WiFi networks in the area. This network was built through a unique public/private partnership with the City of Gahanna and the private sector. HighSpeedAir (a local firm) built, owns and maintains the wireless network while the city is the primary anchor tenant. The network was designed to be used by private individuals and businesses as well as supporting a number of city departments like the police, water, sewer, streets and parks departments. Giving these departments access to this type of tool will enable the city to be more responsive to residents and businesses and deliver key city services more efficiently and cost effectively.
