Project Update: Sheetz Development

Please see the update below regarding the proposed Sheetz project at Morse Road and U.S. 62:

“In consultation with the New Albany Company and Gahanna Mayor Laurie Jadwin, Sheetz has decided to suspend its plans to develop a new store at the intersection of Morse Road and East Johnstown Road in Gahanna. We will continue to expand throughout the Columbus region with the goal to be a great employer and good neighbor that is actively involved in every community we serve.”

2021 Sidewalk Maintenance Program Update

On Tuesday, April 4, 2023, Newcomer Concrete Services, Inc., will begin work on removing and replacing sidewalk panels, weather permitting, on the following streets:

  • Ashburnham Drive
  • Empire Drive
  • Gatwick Court
  • Granfield Court
  • Highmeadow Court
  • Highmeadow Drive
  • Maybank Court
  • Paddington Court

The goal is for these panels to be replaced in the same week. If a panel is replaced within your driveway approach, please do not walk or drive on it for 24 hours after the work is completed, in order to allow the concrete to cure properly.  In the meantime, to ensure access to the work area, we kindly ask that you abide by any “no parking” signs that are in place.

2023 Shred and E-Recycle Event

Saturday, April 22
Gahanna City Hall, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Join us on Earth Day for our annual Shred & E-Recycle Event! This is a great opportunity to safely shred important family or household documents and drop off your old cell phones, tablets and more to be resold. Gahanna Residents in Need (GRIN) also will be on hand to collect canned goods, non-perishable food, toiletries, and monetary donations. (Please note that GRIN is not able to accept expired food).

Traffic to be Slow Moving on East Johnstown Road

March 16, 2023 – Please be advised that you may experience slower than normal traffic on East Johnstown Road, between Hamilton Road and East Cherry Bottom Road, while contracted crews work to install communications infrastructure. The impacted area is marked in orange on the map below. This work, which is weather dependent, will be conducted during normal business hours and is expected to last for the next couple of weeks. Traffic restrictions will be removed when crews are not working. Once this work is complete, an update will be posted to this page. Should you have any questions, please contact Project Administrator Brian Kennedy at (614) 342-4053.
UPDATE: This work is now complete, and there will be no more traffic restrictions because of it.
