Mayor's Office

The annual State of Our City event was presented on Thursday, March 28, at LaNavona Event Center. Mayor Jadwin was proud to report that Gahanna is thriving, noting that the City is “the strongest it has ever been.” Gahanna City Council, Gahanna City Attorney, Department Directors, and administrative staff were on hand to engage with residents to discuss projects coming up in 2024 and answer questions. Sincere thanks as well to regional and state partners, as well as many community organizations, who also participated and shared information on how they are helping Gahanna to build with purpose. Administrative Services

The City is proud to announce that Corey Wybensinger, Senior Deputy Director of Administrative Services, was appointed as a 2024 Leadership Ohio Fellow. After a competitive process, Wybensinger was one of 35 leaders chosen from a record 147 nominations received from around the State. Over the next eight months, he and the other fellows “will explore critical questions, engage in challenging social discourse, and identify opportunities that impact Ohioans and the communities in which they live and work.” To learn more about Leadership Ohio and the 2024 class, visit LeadershipOhio.org.

Engineering

Over the next two months, crews will be replacing the water mains located beneath Havens Corners Road, St. Martin Court, and St. Stephens Court. Two-way traffic will be maintained at all times while they work to improve water service in the area. Please use caution when driving in the area, as traffic barrels are in place to provide safe room for construction work. For more information on this project, visit Gahanna.gov.

Public Safety

The team of professionals that works every day to keep the City safe is growing as Bobby Logan and Deborah Woodward recently took their oaths of office. Logan, who is set to become the newest officer with the Gahanna Division of Police, will begin training at the Westerville Basic Police Academy, next month. Once he graduates, he will participate in three to four months of field training with senior officers before beginning solo patrol. Woodward is a Communications Technician who is in the early stages of her training. Please join us in welcoming both of them to Gahanna!

Support local veterans and their families in the 2nd annual Walk in Our Boots 5k. All proceeds will be used to stock nonperishable food items for the emergency food pantry and provide clothing, toiletries, and other necessities for veterans transitioning from being homeless to living in their own apartments.
