Hello and happy Friday! We hope you all had a great week! I was so nice to see you all at Spring Fling to celebrate the new season. We have plenty of other fun programs, so make sure to sign up. Hope you have a great weekend! We will see you next week.

Day Trips

Day Trips

Registration for May Day Trips is now open. Trips include the Columbus Clippers Game and Hocking Hills. June Day Trips will open for registration on Monday, May 6. A full list of all spring trips can be found here. Registration must be completed in person and credit or debit is the preferred payment.

First Annual “Senior” Prom

Embrace feeling "Forever Young" at the first annual Gahanna "Senior" Prom on Thursday, May 23 at 4:30 p.m.! Grab a friend and your favorite dress and get ready to dance the night away! Formal dress is encouraged but not required. The best part about this prom is that no date is required! Stop by the Senior Center to grab your ticket today! Tickets cost $10 per person. Appetizers and dessert will be provided the night of the event.

Students from the Paul Mitchell School will be on site the day of the event from 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. providing FREE hair and makeup to help you feel and look your best before the event. Sign up for your 20 minute time slot at the Senior Center today!

Membership Pictures

Starting May 1, staff will be taking pictures of all members for our scan-in system. Be prepared to “say cheese” the next time you stop into the Senior Center.

Car Care

Spring Cleaning for your car will be available Tuesday, May 7 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.! Staff will be on-site to clean debris, refill your wiper fluid and check tire pressure. Sponsor Procore Medicare will provide a car care kit and light refreshments. Make sure to sign up for a 15-minute time slot at the Senior Center!

Ice Cream Social and GASAC Elections

Don't miss this joint event on Wednesday, May 8 at 1 p.m. Enjoy a sweet treat with friends at the annual Ice Cream Social while learning more about Senior Center operations. GASAC elections and a short presentation will take place during this event. Event sponsored by Sunrise Senior Living. Unable to make the May 8 Ice Cream Social? Early voting will be available starting May 1. Pick up a ballot and vote at the Senior Center.

Wii Bowling Open Practice

Come try Wii Bowling at open practices on select Fridays starting in May at 10 a.m. This is a game that anyone can play either standing or sitting. Everyone is invited and instructions are provided. If you're interested, come to one of the following open practice sessions: May 24, May 31, and June 14.

Coming Up at the Senior Center

New! Texas Hold ‘Em. Join friends at the Senior Center to play Texas Hold ‘Em every Wednesday at 10 a.m. starting May 8. Play is only open to 10 people, so make sure to get there early.

Monday, May 13 - Birthday Lunch at 12 p.m.

Tuesday, May 14 - Make the Most of Your Medicare Advantage Plan from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Tuesday, May 14 - Meet with the Mayor at 2 p.m.
