Parks & Rec Month! We're going on a scavenger hunt! July is Parks & Recreation Month and we want to celebrate with you! This July the National Recreation & Parks Association voted the theme as “Where You Belong.” We are celebrating the role that Parks & Recreation plays in creating a sense of belonging in the community by providing welcoming and inclusive programs, essential services for all abilities and ages, and safe, accessible spaces to build meaningful connections. We will be hosting a city-wide scavenger hunt starting July 1 to celebrate! Using the Goosechase app, you can explore Gahanna parks to earn points by completing missions! Be sure to download the Goosechase app and share your favorite way to enjoy our parks by using #ExploreGahannaParks in social media posts and be sure to tag @GahannaParksRec.

It is a cross between tennis, badminton, and table tennis, and is played on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net. Pickleball is a great way to get exercise, have fun, and socialize with friends. This adult pickleball lesson is designed for beginners and intermediate players who want to learn the basics of the game or improve their skills. Equipment is provided. Bike Big Walnut Trail Rides: Wednesday, July 10 & Monday, July 24History Rides: Sunday, July 21Veterans ParkCome explore the beauty of Gahanna on bike! Join your neighbors for bicycle rides on trails and low traffic routes on our Trail Rides. Looking for a little history? Join our history ride to explore and learn fun facts about the rich history of Gahanna. Ride leaders are certified bicycle educators. Helmets are required for each rider. Each ride will start with short safety tips about rules of the trail and road. Children age 14 and under must be accompanied by an adult, and older children (age 15-17) must have a parent or guardian available to sign a permission release. Kayaking 101Monday, July 15 4 p.m.- 6 p.m.Hannah ParkLearn the basics of paddling and get more comfortable on the water through this introduction to kayaking. ACA-certified instructors will provide a thorough dive into the techniques and skills needed to be a confident and safe kayaker.
