Letter From the Supervisor

Summer weather is always unpredictable! We had a few days of cool and wet weather to start this season off and then a heat wave come through. Don’t forget, if the temperature is below 70 degrees or if the forecast is for storms or rain, we will often remain closed. Stay informed on weather closures by subscribing to our pool alerts!

Program Information

Registration is open for our Junior Lifeguard class happening at the Gahanna Swimming Pool! Class begins on July 9.

We are currently taking registration for our Artistic Swimming Rec League! Visit our website for more information.

Q. How long have you worked for Gahanna Parks & Rec?

A. This is my first year working for Gahanna parks and rec but have always enjoyed going to Creekside and visiting the parks.

Q. What do you enjoy about working at the pools?

A. I enjoy working at the pools because the job is enjoyable and social. The sense of community in the workplace is something that I really?enjoy because it feels like family. It also makes me happy to see other Gahanna residents having a good time at the pools.

Q. What is a fun fact about you?

A. I enjoy the outdoors, with some of my interests being fishing, swimming, and snowboarding.

A. I’ve been with Gahanna for 2 years.

Q. What do you enjoy about working at the pools?

A. I love being so involved with the Gahanna community. It’s always fun to see people I know enjoying the pools while also meeting new faces!

A. My dream job is to become a marine biologist!

Water Safety Tip of the Week

Swim as a Pair, with a Lifeguard There! Only swim in areas that are well marked and supervised by a trained Lifeguard! Never swim alone. Always bring a friend or a water buddy who can get help in the event of an emergency. If a Lifeguard isn’t there, a designated water watcher is a great option! Water watchers can be any adult who is free of distractions, such as their phone or other people, and knows how to recognize someone in distress and act. Remember, there is safety in numbers!
