Happy New Year from all of us at the Gahanna Senior Center! We wish you a wonderful 2026, filled with joy, laughter, and many special moments.

As a friendly reminder, the Senior Center will reopen on Monday, January 5. We hope you enjoy a happy, healthy, and restful holiday season, and we truly cannot wait to welcome you back and see you in the new year!

January - February Programs Now Open!

Our January–February Program Spotlight is here! We’re excited to share a wide variety of activities, classes, and events—all now open for registration.

All FREE programs opened for registration on Friday, December 12 and still have space available. These programs can be registered for online at any time. If you prefer not to register online, you are welcome to sign up in person when we reopen on January 5.

Please note that PAID programs must be registered for in person only. Registration for these programs will begin once we reopen on January 5, as online registration is not available for paid offerings.

Need help with online registration? We’re here to help! Please review the attached step-by-step registration guides and instructional videos linked below for easy assistance. If you still have questions, staff will be happy to assist you when we reopen.

World of Travel Trip Preview

Monday, January 5 at 11 a.m.

Join Josh from World of Travel for an engaging presentation highlighting exciting travel opportunities planned for 2026. Alzheimer's Association: Explore Care and Support Services

Tuesday, January 6 at 2 p.m.

Planning ahead can make a meaningful difference. Join the Alzheimer’s Association for an informative and compassionate presentation focused on preparing for future care decisions for yourself and the people you love.

This session will provide an overview of available care and support services, including:

  • Respite care options
  • Residential and long-term care
  • End-of-life care planning

Participants will gain helpful information, practical guidance, and an opportunity to better understand the resources available to support individuals and families.

Lunch Bunch: Rusty Bucket (Gahanna)

Wednesday, January 7

Join us for a fun and social Lunch Bunch outing to the Rusty Bucket in Gahanna! Enjoy great food and even better company while dining with friends from the Senior Center.

Transportation Information:

  • Transportation from the Senior Center will depart promptly at 11:00 a.m.
  • Participants who prefer to drive themselves may meet the group at the restaurant at 11:30 a.m.

Registration is IN PERSON ONLY.

Morning Mingle

Thursday, January 8 at 10 a.m.

Start your day on a sweet note at Morning Mingle! Spend a relaxing morning catching up with friends while enjoying fresh coffee, donuts, and pastries in a warm and welcoming setting.

Community Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

  • Saturday, January 10
  • 10 a.m. (Doors open at 9:30 a.m.)
  • NEW Gahanna Lincoln High School Gymnasium

Be part of this special moment to officially open the new GLHS building!

Community Tours of the Old and New GLHS Buildings

  • Tours of the new building will begin immediately following the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. If you’re not attending the ceremony, tours will start at 11 a.m.
  • Enjoy a self-guided walk through a designated route showcasing favorite spaces and unique features in both the old and new buildings.
  • Last tour entry: 2:30 p.m. | Doors close: 3 p.m.

Parking & Shuttle Information

  • Parking on-site is limited. Visitors are encouraged to park at Clark Hall and use the free District shuttles.
  • Shuttle service to the Ribbon Cutting begins at 9:15 a.m. and will pause during the ceremony.
  • After the ceremony, shuttles will run continuously between Clark Hall and both GLHS buildings from 10:45 a.m. to 3 p.m.
