Karen Angelou, Member At Large

Council member Angelou has been a resident of Gahanna for over 40 years. She served 11 terms; elected five times as president and six times as vice president of Gahanna City Council. In 2012, she was appointed to the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC) and has served on its Executive Board and as Board Secretary. Angelou is a founding member of the Gahanna Convention & Visitors Bureau and received its Ambassador of the Year Award in 2016. A 1967 graduate of the Conservatory of Music at Capital University, Ms. Angelou spent her career teaching music for the Franklin County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Council member Angelou is married to Mifflin Township Trustee, Dick Angelou. Her term ends December 2019.

Brian Larick, Ward 3

Council member Larick has lived in Gahanna since 2000. He previously served as the president of Council and served the same role in 2012 and 2014. Larick is a member of Gahanna’s Community Improvement Corporation, works at JP Morgan Chase and is active with several community organizations. Council member Larick is ASQ Certified and has a Six Sigma Black Belt. He is married to Tracey, has three children and two grandchildren. His term expires December 2021.

Jamie Leeseberg, Ward 4

Council member Leeseberg moved to Gahanna in 2007. Currently, he serves as the finance chair on council. Previously he served as vice president of Gahanna City Council and as a member of Gahanna’s Community Improvement Corporation. He was a board member of the Gahanna Convention and Visitors Bureau in 2016 and past chair of the Service and Safety Committee. Leeseberg is a licensed professional engineer and surveyor in the State of Ohio and has more than 20 years of experience in land development. Council member Leeseberg is Certified Tourism Ambassador and enjoys volunteering at High Point Elementary and coaching various sports. Council member Leeseberg is married to Angi and has two children. His term ends December 2021.

Nancy McGregor, Member At Large
Email Council Member Nancy McGregor
Council member McGregor has lived in Gahanna for 39 years. She served over ten years on council including in various roles including president, vice president, council representative to MORPC and chairman of various council committees. McGregor works as a substitute teacher and is currently vice president of the Gahanna Historical Society, a member of the Oakhaven Garden Club and attends New Life Church. She is married to Jim and has three children and eight grandchildren. Her term ends December 2019.

Brian Metzbower, Council President, Member At Large

Brian Metzbower has served on Gahanna City Council since 2015 and currently serves as the president of council. Previously, he served as a member of the Gahanna Governance Commission. Metzbower previously served as the council’s representative to the Gahanna-Jefferson School Board and as a member of the Gahanna Branding Project Advisory Committee. In his professional life, he works for Franklin County. He is also a member of the Gahanna YMCA and has two daughters. His term ends in December 2019.

Stephen Renner, Council Vice President, Ward 1

Council member Renner moved to Gahanna in 1998. He has served on council since 2012 and has served as president in 2013 and 2016. Before serving on council, Renner was a member of City of Gahanna’s Civil Service Commission from 2008 through 2011. Outside his role for the City of Gahanna, he is the director of the Franklin County Department of Sanitary Engineering, providing water and sewer services in unincorporated areas of Franklin County. Councilman Renner is a 2014 graduate of Leadership Columbus and a Certified Tourism Ambassador through Experience Columbus. Renner is married to Melissa and has two children. His term ends December 2021.

Michael Schnetzer,Ward 2

Council member Schnetzer moved to Gahanna in 2007. Previously, he served as the finance chair on council. Outside of his role on Gahanna City Council, Schnetzer is employed in public finance at Baird. He is a holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and Chartered Market Technician designations and is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts. Council member Schnetzer is married to Kate and has two children. His term ends December 2021.
