The Gahanna Veterans Memorial Park is located at the end of Old Johnstown Rd. and Big Walnut Creek in Gahanna. The park was dedicated on Veterans Day in 1998 and was built to allow for the placement of up to 20,000 engraved bricks honoring our local veterans of the U.S. military services. To date, there are approximately 2,500 bricks placed and dedicated in the park. For more information on becoming involved with the memorial, please call the Gahanna Department of Parks & Recreation.
Brick dedication ceremonies are held twice a year, with event planning beginning several months prior to the event date. Each ceremony has a theme and the theme for the dedication ceremonies scheduled for Memorial Day will be announced by early April. The theme for the Veteran’s Day dedication will be announced in early October.
