[ARCHIVED] Gahanna Working to Reduce Energy Costs for Residents

SOPEC logo

The City of Gahanna is excited to introduce Gahanna Energy Plus - a new electricity aggregation program designed to provide competitive energy rates for Gahanna residents and support clean energy!

Through partnership with the Sustainable Ohio Public Energy Council (SOPEC) and AEP Energy, Gahanna customers can enjoy a competitive fixed term rate of 6.445 cents/kWh (or $0.06445 per kWh) for electricity supply backed by 100% renewable energy, for a term of 6 months (December 2024 meter read date to June 2025 meter read date). Eligible residents can opt out of the program at no cost.  Customers already enrolled in a supply contract with their own energy provider will not be automatically enrolled in Gahanna Energy Plus, but can join the City’s program at any time after the initial offering and at no charge. If you choose to opt out, you will default to the local utility's (AEP Ohio) standard rate offer.

Be on the lookout! Opt-out letters will be mailed later this month.
