With the winter weather headed our way, the Department of Public Service will work around the clock to keep our roads as safe as possible. Please help them by moving your parked vehicles off of the street, so they can clear as much of the snow and/or ice as possible. As always, streets are prioritized for plowing based on volume of traffic. More information on the City’s snow removal policy can be found at Gahanna.gov/220/Snow-Removal.
For your safety, please stay off the roads during the storm, unless you must travel somewhere. If you do head out, use extreme caution and remember to follow these tips to stay safe:
- Monitor and follow all weather alerts and travel advisories.
- Keep a winter emergency kit in your car.
- Check your brakes and tires before heading to your destination.
- Clear all snow and ice from your vehicle.
- Slow down and increase your following distance.
- Brake gently to avoid skidding.
- Use headlights in low visibility conditions.
- Dress appropriately for the weather, in case your car breaks down.
As of 10 a.m. on Sunday, January 5, there are no changes to this week’s trash collection schedule. Any updates will be shared on the City's social media pages and at Gahanna.gov.
