As the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) takes the next steps in the reconstruction of the Hamilton Road bridge over I-270, the following traffic changes will impact drivers beginning at 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 8:
- The ramp from southbound Hamilton Road to I-270 South will close until September, weather permitting. Drivers will be asked to follow posted detours, as I-270 South will be accessible from Broad Street and U.S. 62.
- The ramp from northbound Hamilton Road to I-270 North will reopen.
- Two northbound lanes and one southbound lane of Hamilton Road will remain open, although traffic will shift to the bridge’s freshly laid pavement.
Updates on this project will continue to be shared at Gahanna.gov and on the City’s social media pages as more information is received from ODOT. If you have any questions regarding this project, ODOT can be contacted at (614) 466-7170 or online by filling out the feedback form which can be found HERE.
While we recognize the impacts of this project, we appreciate ODOT’s significant investment in improving this critical roadway in our city. Thank you for your patience and understanding as work is being done to improve the safety and quality of the bridge.
