Mayor's OfficeHelp shape the future of Gahanna! Thanks to a grant from ODOT, engineering consultants are currently working with the City on the development of an Active Transportation Plan (ATP) that will guide future improvements to expand connectivity, increase safety, ensure equity, promote utilization, improve livability, and preserve our community. The ATP will focus on safe travel paths for those who walk, bike, or use strollers, wheelchairs, mobility devices, scooters, skateboards or rollerblades. Earlier this year, a community survey was conducted where residents helped to identify opportunities for pedestrian and bicycle improvements around the City. Over the last several months, information gathered from that survey has been compiled into potential projects that would improve the City’s Active Transportation Network. We invite you to join us for an ATP Open House on Tuesday, June 25, from 5-7 p.m., at Gahanna City Hall (200 S. Hamilton Road). This is an opportunity for you to learn how information gathered in the survey was used to formulate the next phase in this process, to provide feedback on identified projects, and to identify other recommended projects that are of high priority to you. Let’s continue to work together to build a healthier, happier and more connected Gahanna! 825 Tech Center DriveOn May 15, city leaders and staff broke ground on 825 Tech Center Drive – the future home of the Gahanna Division of Police, Gahanna City Hall, and Gahanna Senior Center. The project, which was approved by Gahanna City Council in September 2022, addresses three critical facility needs in one and is focused on creating a welcoming, community-focused space that will meet modern operational needs for decades to come. The 100,000-square-foot building will be renovated, with an additional 35,000 square feet of space to be constructed to support specific service needs. Construction is expected to be complete in early 2026. For more information on the project (including links to project presentations and public discussions), go to the Facilities for the Future page. Updates on this project will continue to be provided at upcoming City Council meetings.
