MAYOR'S OFFICEWe are excited to share that the City of Gahanna has earned Gold Plus Equity Champion Status under the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission’s (MORPC’s) Sustainable2050 Program, recognizing the City’s commitment to sustainability and equity. Gahanna earned this status by completing 60 eligible activities across various categories, which included promoting green energy through a community choice aggregation program, enhancing recycling efforts, and advancing sustainable infrastructure such as the upcoming Link to Literacy Trail and the repurposing of an existing building into a new facility that will collectively house police headquarters, city operations, and senior center programming. Sustainable2050 is a voluntary program presented by MORPC that supports and recognizes the sustainability efforts of its member cities through direct assistance, collaboration, and recognition. Gahanna was one of the first cities recognized by the Program in 2018, when the City earned silver status. Over the past year, the Administration has worked with MORPC to catalogue and identify our current sustainability efforts. This new certification highlights our commitment to protecting our city’s natural resources through strategic investments and innovative collaborations, while continuing to build a cleaner and greener Gahanna for generations to come. PUBLIC SERVICEGahanna is now home to a new Sign Shop! Instead of placing orders and waiting for signs to be created, our team can now create them in house, saving both time and money. While most of the signs they produce will be standard road and traffic signs dictated by the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), they eventually will be able to also focus on replacing older, worn-out signs all around Gahanna, making the City safer, easier to navigate, and even more welcoming. If you see a damaged or missing sign, you can report it by calling (614) 342-4061, sending an email to SignShop@Gahanna.gov, or notifying us through Gahanna Direct at Gahanna.gov/374/Gahanna-Direct.
