MAYOR'S OFFICE

Our city continues to stay actively involved in regional efforts that bring resources and opportunities closer to home. Through Mayor Jadwin’s participation on the Executive Committee of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC), we’re helping to ensure that our community is represented in important conversations that are shaping the future of our region.

This involvement also opens the door to meaningful programs and resources that directly benefit our residents. One of these is the Home Weatherization Program, which offers free home energy efficiency and safety services to income-eligible residents. The Program is designed to keep homes warmer in the winter, cooler in the summer, and more affordable to maintain year-round.

Under the Program, eligible Franklin County residents may receive the following services at no cost:

  • Repair or replacement of furnaces/heating systems
  • Repairs made to leaking or failing roofs
  • Fixes needed for faulty plumbing or electrical systems
  • Handicap accessibility modifications
  • Attic and sidewall insulation
  • Air sealing
  • A full home energy inspection
  • Safety checks on appliances

825 TECH CENTER DRIVE

The new Gahanna Civic Center is now clearly taking shape, with the building beginning to closely resemble the renderings we’ve seen over the past two years. With the parking lot newly paved and interior work progressing - such as ceilings, paint, and carpet installation - the site is evolving into a vibrant hub for city services and community gathering.

Most notably, the first-floor public spaces reflect a major step forward in how the City will serve residents. These areas are being thoughtfully designed to be warm, welcoming, and accessible, offering a more modern and efficient experience for those visiting Police Headquarters, the Senior Center, or other city departments.

Technology installations are on the horizon, and essential building systems are now coming online. As progress continues, residents can look forward to a Police Headquarters, Senior Center, and city operations that are built to better connect the community with the services they rely on.

Stay informed on the project by viewing Council meetings on the City’s YouTube channel (@CityofGahanna), where updates are provided at the first Committee of the Whole meeting each month. Information on the project, including all prior presentations, budget discussions, construction updates and more, can be found at Gahanna.gov/825/.

COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM

The City of Gahanna is proud to continue investing in our community through the 2025 Community Grant Program. This year, 13 local nonprofit organizations have been awarded a total of $81,250 to support important initiatives focused on mental health, public safety, community enrichment, and essential needs.

Each recipient organization went through a detailed review process and participated in pre-award meetings to establish clear goals and accountability measures. As these projects move forward, we’re sharing updates on our social media pages to highlight the real, local impact of this funding. This Program reflects Gahanna’s ongoing commitment to supporting services that enhance the quality of life for all who call our city home.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The City’s IT Department reminds residents to be cautious when it comes to unknown USB drives. If you find a USB device and don’t know its origin, do not plug it into your computer, phone, or any other device. Cybercriminals often load USB drives with harmful software that can infect your device the moment they are connected. Even drives that appear new or legitimate can pose serious risks.

Stay safe with these quick tips:

  • Never plug in unknown or found USB drives.
  • Use only encrypted, trusted USB drives.
  • Report suspicious drives to local authorities.

Bottom line: If you didn’t get the USB from a trusted source, don’t use it.
