City Council
Title: Ward 3

Get To Know Your Representatives: Councilmember Padova

How long have you been a resident?

I have been a resident for 15 years.

Why did you want to serve on City Council?

I wanted to see more women in office, so I became the change I wanted to see. After having a baby girl, it became even more important to show her what is possible. I want her to know the importance of being active in your community, and the best way to do that, is to lead by example.

What experiences and skills support your service on City Council?

My career has always been building relationships. At this stage of my life, I’m building relationships in places where you may not expect an elected official - parks, library, splash pad, or even Momiland. I’m meeting people where they are and getting feedback from parents who likely don’t have the time to come to meetings.

What do you believe is the role of the City Council in our community?

Represent the interests of residents. Whether it’s a re-zoning or the annual budget, resident voices should be reflected in our decisions and dollars.

Please name three qualities a Council member should have.

1. Ability to listen

2. Willingness to learn/unlearn

3. Lead with love

Please list any other community/municipal boards/commissions etc. you serve on.

I worked for GRIN for two years as the Pantry Manager. I am in my 3rd year of a Gahanna Convention and Visitors Bureau board appointment.

Please describe how you would like the City of Gahanna to look in the next 5 years.

A buzzing Creekside District would be the dream.

What is your favorite feature of Gahanna?

Creekside is near and dear to my heart, as I live within walking distance. I also love the new library and all the parks.

Do you have any hidden/unique talents you would like to share?

I’m a certified yoga teacher and love to dig in the garden.
