Get To Know Your Representatives:
President Weaver
How long have you been a resident?
I was born and raised in Gahanna. In 2019, I was thrilled when my wife and I decided to move back and start our own family here.
Why did you want to serve on City Council?
I wanted to give back to the community. I loved growing up here and wanted to support and help shape Gahanna moving into the future.
What do you believe is the role of the City Council in our community?
I believe Council should deliver for its residents, promoting policies that support sustainable growth, public safety, neighborhood preservation, and improved quality of life.
Please name three qualities a Council member should have.
1. Excellent listening skills
2. Responsiveness
3. Being present in the community
Please list any other community/municipal boards/commissions etc. you serve on.
In the past, I was a board member on the Gahanna Area Arts Council. Currently, I serve as the Council liaison to the City of Gahanna Community Improvement Corporation, a role I have also held previously. Current member on the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission Board of Commissioners.
Please describe how you would like the City of Gahanna to look in the next 5 years.
I hope in five years, we will be in a better place for deferred maintenance, while maintaining a clear path forward on sustainability. I would like to see a greater emphasis on the quality of life for residents, focusing on things that make people want to live, work, and play in Gahanna.
What is your favorite feature of Gahanna?
The residents are my favorite feature of Gahanna. Having grown up here, I truly believe Gahanna is home to the best people.
Do you have any hidden/unique talents you would like to share?
Before graduating from law school, I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Musical Theatre from Otterbein University. I’ve also played the piano for over 25 years.
